Salt dough ornaments and other easy holiday crafts.

My first time making salt dough ornaments was sooooo quick and easy! They made perfect holiday gifts for 2014!

Salt Dough Recipe:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup water
1 TBS cinnamon (optional)
Blend together flour and salt. Stir in water until dough forms. Knead on floured surface until dough is firm and workable. Roll out dough with rolling pin until desired thickness. 1/4 inch or less.
Cut out shapes using cookie cutters.

Before baking or air drying ornaments create a design on your ornaments. I used a placement card holder and twigs in the pictures below.

After drying I gave ornaments a base color using all purpose acrylic paint.

Finally I decorated ornaments using stencils.

DECORATING BATTERY OPERATED CANDLES

Make battery operated candles dazzle by adding fresh foliage, ribbon and fake holly berries.

CREATE MINI WREATHS

Make mini holiday wreaths using clippings from your Christmas tree. I used tacky glue to decoration and ornament hooks to hang wreaths.
